Brady L. Burkett, PhD
Dr. Burkett has been a mediator, facilitator, and educator for the past 15 years. During this time Dr. Burkett has continued to build upon his process-oriented approach to transformative learning, adult development, and conflict engagement supporting students and clients to promote collaborative environments that seek to invite and acknowledge all voices. Dr. Burkett has long maintained that engaging in conflict offers all of us new developmental opportunities to grow and learn from. As a result of this we create more capacity while also reinforcing our ability to stay present and mindful.
By using and teaching reflective practitioner skills Dr. Burkett helps individuals and groups to slow down time, allowing for new information to emerge so that people can become less fixed on their desired outcomes while maintaining the curiosity and support needed for individuals and groups to cross over to the other side of a conflict. This approach helps everybody in the room feel seen, heard, and honored by helping people feel different about each other, building trust, and the issues they are facing together.
Additionally, Dr. Burkett’s focus on a collaborative approach to working through conflicts and Dr. Burkett’s multi-perspective approach to conflict and transformational learning reflects his diverse academic background, personal/professional experiences, and commitment to lifelong learning and development.
Dr. Burkett offers the following services through Constellation:
-Training: Supporting large or small groups to build new capacity to efficiently engage with conflict so that they can begin to see the benefits in their differences as they strive for resolution and new agreements.
-Facilitation: Facilitation for large or small groups to support them in navigating the current issues they are facing in the organization. The facilitation process can be a vital tool in helping organizations in reaching new agreements while building new levels of trust.
-Conflict Coaching: Individual sessions available for those who may need additional support navigating personal and professional conflicts. Coaching can often lead to new insights that not only impact the personal, but they can also influence the outcomes of teams and groups within the organization.
In his free time, Dr. Burkett is an avid reader, enjoys long walks, swimming, cooking, and working on music projects when inspiration arises. He lives in Yellow Springs, OH with his wife Amy where he is currently the Village Mediation Coordinator.
